Module 1: Building Your Team

One of the most critical things that you may have to do as a manger is hire for your team! The responsibility of finding and hiring new team members and then setting them up for success once they start is one of the highest leverage things you can do. We'll go over:

  • The basics of a good hiring process

  • How to create an amazing onboarding plan

  • Building out a 30-60-90 day plan for new team members

Module 2: Team Culture

Managers have the unique responsibility of developing and setting the cultures for their team. You have an opportunity to define the principles and pracitces that make your team a positive, high-performing environment to work in. But how do you go about doing this? In Module 2 we discuss:

  • Defining your team principles

  • Ways to build culture and bonding within your team

  • Developing a team charter

  • Using work style conversations to develop relationships

Module 3: Team Operations

Have a growing team? It might feel like chaos trying to stay on top of all of the moving pieces and deliverables. Experienced managers use specific tools and processes to help manage their team and provide them with right information when they need it.  Our module covers:

  • Team meetings and how to make them work for you

  • How to create a digital home for your team

  • The critical role of the 1:1

  • Receiving updates from your teams

Module 4: Managing Priorities

Just like culture-building, identifying the highest priority things to work on is one of the high leverage things that really great managers know how to do well. This module covers frameworks to help you identify goals and priorities for your team.  We'll cover:

  • Setting goals for your team

  • A deep dive into OKRs as a goal-setting framework

  • Ways to prioritize work for you and your team

  • Mindset of delegation for a manager

Module 5: Developing Your Team

Whole courses could be taught on feedback and team development, but we'll go over some foundational pieces to help you step into the role as someone responsible for helping your team members grow over time.

  • Giving and receiving feedback

  • Tips on performance reviews

  • Conversations and useful exercises for career exploration
